This temple is located at a height of 3664 feet on the top of Girnar Mountain. 1117 steps lead to the temple, where a revered idol of the goddess can be worshiped.
Built in the Gupta period, the Ambaji Temple is the oldest and holiest temple on Girnar. It is learned that the first renovation of Maa Ambaji temple on Girnar Mountain took place in the third Souka. According to Girnar Mahatmya, Lord Vishnu praised Ambaji in a dwarf incarnation. E. Q. 783 The splendour of this temple is also mentioned in the Harivansh Purana. In a very ancient reputation, this station of Ambaji is built of black stone with a pinnacle. The idol of Amba sitting in the Shikharbandh temple looks very grand and divine. Ghee has been burning incessantly here for years.
